Historical Rules of the Supreme Court

This collection represents historical versions of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Rules from 1845 through 2007 were scanned from paper Rules pamphlets; later compilations were digitally created. Pre-1845 rules compilations were scanned from the United States Reports. The dates in the file names reflect the year in which a given set of Rules went into effect. For full coverage and effective dates, please review the information on the title page of each compilation.

This collection is provided for informational and research purposes only. Please see the current Rules of the Supreme Court for the rules now in effect.
