Revolutionary Arguments: The Legal Fight for Independence

Examine how lawyers, statesmen, and soldiers—some of whom would later become Justices of the Supreme Court—fought tirelessly to bring about a new government. This exhibit highlights some of the legal arguments featured in the Declaration of Independence that influenced state constitutions and the U.S. Constitution.
