  • All requested items must be attached to your online application at the time the application is submitted.

  • Online applications must be received by midnight eastern time:

         For fall placement - June 10
         For spring placement - October 20
         For summer placement - February 10

2. Cover Letter

Please attach a short cover letter stating why you are applying for this internship. Your cover letter MUST be in either PDF or Microsoft WORD format.


3. Résumé

Please attach your résumé below. Your résumé MUST be in either PDF or Microsoft WORD format.


4. Short Essay on a Former Justice

Please attach an original short essay about a former Justice of the Supreme Court. The essay should explain your choice of Justice and what parts of his or her work and/or biography hold particular interest and significance to you. The essay shall be three to five pages, double-spaced, with one-inch margins, and Times New Roman 12 point font. Your essay MUST be in either PDF or Microsoft WORD format.


5. Transcript

Please upload a current copy of your transcript or transcripts in PDF format. For students who have attended more than one college, please include transcripts showing all credit coursework. Images of official or unofficial (such as web-printed) transcripts are acceptable, with preference for a format that shows instructor names. Applicants who receive a provisional offer of an internship may be asked to arrange for an original official transcript to be sent directly to the Court.
